Marvel! Databases

A Quick Guide

1. Go to http://mahoney.spsd.org.

2. Click on “Library.”

3. Click on “Marvel!”

4. Click on “KIDS” on the left side of the page

5. Start your search using Middle Search Plus.

6. Enter keywords. Use “and,” “or,” and “not” to add specific terms to the search.

7. Choose “Full text.”

8. You may decide to limit your search by a range of years or by reading level.

9. Take notes on the articles.

10. If you make an account, you may put your journal articles in a folder for future reference.

11. Remember to cite your sources! Use Citation Maker which is a link on the Mahoney Library page.

You can access Marvel! at home, but you'll need a South Portland library card number from the public library.
