Incoming 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Students

MS Transition Academy may be just what they need!

This August*, both Memorial and Mahoney will offer a Transition Academy for incoming 6th, 7th & 8th grade students. The Academy program at each school will use an integrated, hands-on approach to help students prepare for the academic and organizational demands of middle school.

MS Transition Academy is sponsored by the South Portland School District and will be held at Memorial Middle School and Mahoney Middle School. Recommendations for this program are based upon conversations with students, parents, guidance counselors, teachers, and administrators. The goal of the program is to support students and give them a jump start prior to starting school in the fall.

MS Transition Academy Tuition
Tuition for MS Transition Academy is a $40 deposit with $20 returned upon successful completion of the course. Full payment of the deposit is due at the time of registration.

*The dates for MS Transition Academy are tentatively set for August 3 – August 20. Transition Academy is held Monday through Thursday. The dates and times of the Academy may be subject to change pending registrations and staffing.
