Monday announcements

Today is a Day 6

Sports News:
The Mahoney basketball games will be held at the High School today. Schedule as follows: 7th grade boys: 3:00; 8th grade boys: 4:00; 7th grade girls: 5:00; 8th grade girls: 6:00.

Swim team: Boys and Girls in grades 6, 7, and 8, who are interested in joining the swim team, please sign up in Mr. Greer’s room 221.

Indoor Track 2007!! Indoor Track signups continue in room 123 with Mr. Towle. Get your permission slips in! Track starts on February 6th!!

Music announcements:
Beginner band meet today after school.

Performance jazz rehearses Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Friday after school this week.

7/8th grade honors band will practice Wednesday after school-6th grade band rehearses today.

Other announcements:
Now is the time to pre-order your copy of the 2007 Mahoney yearbook. Starting now through the Friday before February vacation, bring 25 dollars to Mr. Patashnik in room 122 BEFORE or AFTER school ONLY to reserve your copy.

Attention Health classes: Please make sure I have your workbooks by the end of the day!
Reminder: Parent Safety Forum will be held tonight at 6:30 in the South Portland High School library.

Super Bowl Party February 2nd at the Teen Center from 2:30-5:00 p.m. for grades 6-12. Food, trivia, games, movie and the Madden Tournament continues…….Wear your football gear and you can sign up for some GREAT door prizes! This event is FREE…sign up at the Teen Center or call the community Center at 767-7650.

Have you ever wondered what it is like for your child to take the MEA's or the NWEA's? Here is your chance to put yourself in their place.
Friday, February 2, 9:15, in the Kaler School Computer Lab, Steve Bailey, the Curriculum Director for the South Portland School District, will be the guest at Chalkboard. Steve will administer released questions from the MEA's and test us on sample questions from the NWEA's.
Join us at Kaler this Friday, and learn about these testing instruments. This is a great opportunity to find out more about these tests and the curriculum in our schools. Everyone is welcome, so please let other parents know about this Chalkboard.
