R.O.L.E. (Rippleffect Outdoor Leadership Education) - The ROLE program is offered to 7th and 8th grade students from Maine middle schools and is designed to develop leadership, confidence, awareness and interpersonal skills through outdoor adventure programming. The ROLE program consists of 4, 2.5 hour after-school sessions, a long weekend to Cow Island and a culminating graduation ceremony. This program will have three offerings throughout the year, for this Fall session at Mahoney we will take the first 14 students who return the filled out paperwork. On this paperwork students can sign up for the current or for future sessions. For more information please have your student pick up a packet in the main office or click here.

Mahoney's Flu Clinic is October 18th at 10:00. Click here for more information and click here for the form to fill out to have your child get a flu shot at school. The completed form can be turned in to the main office at any time prior to the date of the clinic. Please contact Mahoney's school nurse, Jen Hayward, with any questions.

Students, the cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 7:50. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.
The chill in the air inside is an indication that cold weather is here. Please remember that you are expected to stay outside until the 7:35 bell rings. Be sure to dress warmly or plan to arrive after 7:35.
7th and 8th grade Students, the first session of Rippleffect begins soon! Stop by the office to pick up information. We will be running 3 sessions this year. Are you up for the winter session?? There are only 14 slots available and the first session begins on October 26th.

*Performance Jazz rehearses on Tuesday and Friday mornings. We start at 7:15 a.m. sharp. Please sign in to homeroom first.
*Training Jazz sign ups start NOW! We meet Thursday mornings. See Mrs. Barry to get your name on the list!
*Beginner Band runs on Mondays immediately after school in room 201.
*District One 7 and 8 Honors Band audition practice sessions are Tuesday after school and Wednesday morning before school. Please see Mrs. Barry if there are conflicts. Students must see Mrs. Barry weekly in order to be prepared for the auditions on October 26th!
Sports:
In game results from last week, the 8th grade boys soccer team beat King 2-1 on Thursday. Anthony Nixon scored both goals. Paul Zechman was excellent in net, and was helped by tough performances from Frank Tierney and Jaiden Robinson-Handley in the team win.
The boys soccer team will play again tonight at Lincoln, and the girls soccer team will play home: 7th grade at 3:30 and 8th grade at 4:45
Cross Country will have a meet this afternoon also.
All busses to away contests will be departing at 2:30, please listen to 1:35 announcements for your bus number.
