Please note that our school day officially begins at 8:10 with our cafeteria serving breakfast. All students should be in their homerooms no later than 8:30 and the period 1 class begins at 8:35.
The Library is looking for over 100 overdue library books. Please look around at home and possibly in the bottom of a backpack?
Homework Club will start Monday and run from 2:50-3:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday 8:10-8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time. Drama Club will be rehearsing Wednesday and Thursday this week
Chorus: The 7th and 8th Grade Honor Chorus will rehearse Wednesday from 7:40-8:20. The 6th Grade Honors Chorus will rehearse Wednesday from 2:45-3:15. Be sure to bring your music!!
Sports Notes
Spring Sports Information:
Indoor Track - Open to all grades. Practices begin February 5th and run from 3:00-4:30 in Mahoney’s gym.
Swimming - Open to all grades. Practices begin February 14th and run from 3:20-4:20 at the SP Community Center. A shuttle will be leaving Mahoney at 3:00 and returning to Mahoney around 4:45.
Eligibility - All athletes need a signed athletic contract (once per school year), signed concussion waiver (once per school year) and an updated physical on file (good for two calendar years) in order to participate. Students also need to maintain a HOW average of 2.5 in each of the three HOW criteria.

Any student who wants to ride the van to the Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.
Student Morning Announcements: Wednesday, January 24, 2018 Day 6
Drama Club will be rehearsing this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon this week…..All Students need to attend today’s meeting to have the Drama Club Yearbook picture taken!
Connections period will be held today and we will all be heading to the auditorium to see a preview of this year’s SPHS musical. We will then follow a Connections schedule.
Please remember that there should not be any snowball throwing/making/fighting on school grounds, at bus stops or on your way to or from school.
Student Council and Civil Rights Team members--want to get involved in helping with a fun school-wide activity in February. Come meet with Mrs. Stilphen on either Wednesday or Friday at 2:05! See me at lunch if you have any questions.
Sports Notes:
Signups for Indoor Track and Swimming are outside the main office. Practices will begin February 5th for track and the 14th for swimming.
A reminder, all student need to have a valid physical, signed contract and signed concussion waiver on file to participate in any athletic team.
Music:
Training and Performance Jazz rehearsals this week;
Performance will rehearse Tuesday and Friday, and Training Jazz will meet on Thursday morning.
Information is now available for the District Honors Jazz Auditions. Please see Mrs. Barry. The audition deadline is this Friday January 26th.
6th honors band will rehearse Wednesday after school
7th and 8th honors band will practice Tuesday after school and Wednesday morning. Please let Mrs. Barry know which rehearsal you can attend, and remember to bring your honors music and instrument.
