**Winter Sports Season Notes**
7th and 8th grade basketball signups are outside the main office. The Winter sports season will begin on Monday, November 7th.
Homework Club - Homework club will begin this week in the Mahoney library. Homework club runs from 2:30-3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school to get help from staff members. Each day there are 2 adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
R.O.L.E. (Rippleffect Outdoor Leadership Education) - The ROLE program is offered to 7th and 8th grade students from Maine middle schools and is designed to develop leadership, confidence, awareness and interpersonal skills through outdoor adventure programming. The ROLE program consists of 4, 2.5 hour after-school sessions, a long weekend to Cow Island and a culminating graduation ceremony. The Fall session of this program is currently full, but registrations are being taken for the Winter and Spring sessions. Students, the cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 7:50. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

JMG students today you should be going to their alternate related arts classes as Mr. Kozaka is not in today.
The chill in the air inside is an indication that cold weather is here. Please remember that you are expected to stay outside until the 7:35 bell rings. Be sure to dress warmly or plan to arrive after 7:35.

*Performance Jazz rehearses on Tuesday and Friday mornings. We start at 7:15 a.m. sharp. Please sign in to homeroom first.
*Training Jazz sign ups start NOW! We meet Thursday mornings. See Mrs. Barry to get your name on the list!
We will begin THIS Thursday, October 20th--that’s tomorrow!
*Beginner Band runs on Mondays immediately after school in room 201.
*District One 7 and 8 Honors Band audition practice sessions are Tuesday after school and Wednesday morning before school. Please see Mrs. Barry if there are conflicts. Students must see Mrs. Barry weekly in order to be prepared for the auditions next week, Wednesday October 26th!

Tennis has a home match at the SPHS courts at 3:30 and Cross Country has a meet at 3:15 at the South Portland Golf Course. The Cross Country bus will leave at 2:15, please listen to the 1:35 announcements for the bus number.

This program will have three offerings throughout the year, for this Fall session at Mahoney we will take the first 14 students who return the filled out paperwork.
