The South Portland Clubhouse is offering the following for our middle schoolers:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine Middle School Debate Team – Practice Fridays 4:30-6:00 pm starting 10/13 at the Portland Clubhouse, meets against Yarmouth Middle School, Cape Elizabeth Middle School, NYA, and Falmouth Middle School. Transportation to and from practice can be provided by the South Portland Clubhouse. This is the second year we have competed in this league.
Mindstorms – Lego Robotics. Tuesdays 4:00-5:00 pm, starting 10/17 at the South Portland Clubhouse. Build your EV3 robot and put the robot through programming challenges.

Sports Notes:
Cross Country meet @ SP Golf Course (across from Memorial M.S.). 3:00 bus, 4:20 meet start.
Tennis match @ Cape Elizabeth. 3:00 bus, 3:45 match start.
Field Hockey practice @ Wainwright. 3:20 shuttle, 3:45-5:15 practice.
Boys Soccer practice @ Mahoney 3:00-4:30.
No Girls Soccer practice.

Mahoney PTA Fundraiser
The PTA is asking students to sell Yankee Candle items in order to raise money. Please return the completed order forms to the main office no later than Monday, October 16th.

Any student who wants to ride the van to the Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.
Homework Club will start Monday and run from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday 8:10-8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time. Sports Notes:
7th grade boys soccer and King middle school ended their game in a 0-0 tie. Ben smith and Leo Lomangino combined for the shutout
Another great win by the 7th grade girls team last night against King. Goals were scored by Lilly Hoyt and Ella Christie. Great defense by Kiki Williams and Amara Quimby and another shutout by Janie Savage in goal.
Congratulations to the field hockey team for their win last night against previously undefeated Portland 1-0. Clara Jones scored the winning goal and great defense was played by all.
Tonight, cross country will have a meet at the South Portland golf course and tennis has a meet in Cape Elizabeth. Both teams will board separate busses at 3:00 to your meets.
Boys soccer will have practice this afternoon and there is NO girls soccer practice today.

The instrument repair man will be here every Monday at 1:00 p.m. Please bring them to 201 and make sure you see Mrs. Barry.
Performance Jazz rehearses Tuesday and Friday mornings each week.
Training Jazz continues on Thursday. If you missed last week, come on by!
7th and 8th Honors audition prep rehearsals are Tuesday after school and Wednesday morning. Auditions are Wednesday October 25th.
Beginner Band meets Monday after school.
