8th Grade Band members; we need your parents to be chaperones for Peak’s Island! Thanks!
Beginner Band/Sousa Party will meet today until 3:15.
Color guard will practice Wednesday after school and Thursday morning this week.
Performance Jazz will rehearse Friday morning.
Sports Eligibility: Students must maintain a 2.5 HOW score, have an up to date physical on file and have signed up electronically through RankOne sports management. The website can be found here (https://southportland.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx).
Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club runs from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Green Team:
Mahoney's Environmental Club is called the Green Team, we meet on Tuesday afternoons, right after school in room 108, Mrs. Pitt's room.

Student Morning Announcements: Tuesday, May 14, Day 4
In sports last night:
The Grade 8 baseball team rallied for two runs in the bottom of the final inning for a walk-off win, 4-3, over a strong Scarborough team on Monday.
Nick Swain singled home Richard Gilboy to tie the game 3-3, then scored the winning run on a base hit by and an overthrow on the same play. Noah Erskine's RBI double in the second inning to give SP a 1-0 lead was another offensive highlight for South Portland.
The Grade 8 team plays at home again on Thursday.

Welcome back! Just a reminder of some of the basic school rules--Please be Polite, Prompt, Productive, Prepared and Positive, and please no hats, no hoods, no phones. iPads should be used as directed by teachers. It is great to have you back! Want to head somewhere during period 7? Students must provide a pass to their teacher before heading out of their workshop classroom. Thank you!
