Rippleffect: Rippleffect’s Spring program is open to 14, 6th and 7th grade students at Mahoney and is designed to develop leadership, confidence, awareness and interpersonal skills through outdoor adventure. The ROLE program consists of 4, 2.5 hour after-school sessions, a 3-day weekend on Cow Island, and a culminating graduation ceremony. Paperwork will b made available soon!

Parents feel free to come check out our lost and found outside the Main office. There are water bottles, sports bags and many jackets. Everything will be donated to Goodwill over February break.
Yearbook: A reminder to yearbook staff twice a week meetings will start this week. Yearbook staff will meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The 7th and 8th Honors Festival was held this past weekend, and Mahoney was wonderfully represented by the following Band members: Madeline Churchill, Gracie Sapuan, Jack Smart, Ryan Gibbons, Izzy Gleason, Amara Quimby, Olivia Bean, Eli Falatko, Helen Bonnevie-Rothrock and Max Davis--Congratulations!
Training Jazz will rehearse Thursday morning.

All musicians, our concert is March 13th!

Sports News:
Indoor track practice: 3:00-4:00 in the Mahoney Gym
Swimming practice: shuttle leaves Mahoney at 3:00 (brings students to the Community Center) and returns approximately 4:40 for parent pickup.
Sports Eligibility: Students must maintain a 2.5 HOW score, have an up to date physical on file and have signed up electronically through RankOne sports management. The website can be found here (https://southportland.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx).
Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club runs from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Mahoney's Environmental Club is called the Green Team, we meet on Tuesday afternoons, right after school in room 108, Mrs. Pitt's room.

Due to the snow day yesterday, the 6th grade honors chorus will rehearse tomorrow (Wednesday) after school. Please try your best to be there because this is our last practice before Saturday’s festival!
