SPORTS
The South Portland Boys Middle School swim team competed last Friday in their final meet of the season. This was a festival meet in which they competed against: Westbrook, Scarborough, Saco, Windham, Portland, Kennebunk, and Massabesic. Blake Kierstead swam his first 50 Fly with a time of :55.89. Calvin Comeau swam in his first ever 100 IM and placed 8th in his 50 Freestyle. Way to go boys!!
Last Thursday the girls South Portland Swim team competed in their final meet against Kennebunk, Saco, and Windham. Mia Micucci came in third in the 200 freestyle and in the 50 Backstroke, Anna Kuell came in third with Jada Briley not far behind them with a best time of :51.94. Caitlin Bryant came in 6th in the 100 IM. In the 50 Freestyle Kiley Matthews took second, Mary Disanto fifth, and Callie Jennings had a best time of :45.98 coming in 13th. Jaslyn Goode and Katie Conley swam a neck and neck 100 Breaststroke coming in 6th and 7th.
Audrey Pearson did a fantastic job in the 50 breaststroke coming in one right after the other in 9, 10, and 11 places.
There is a Coaches meeting today after school in the gym for students interested in participating in Baseball, Softball, and Outdoor Track.
Lacrosse, Baseball, and Softball Practices will begin Wednesday April 6th, weather permitting.
Outdoor Track will begin practicing Monday April 11th.
Student Council is sponsoring a school dance this Friday from 6-8. The theme is Spring Fling and it should be lots of fun. Students, please remember that if you choose to come to the dance you must stay until the end of the dance unless an administrator hears from a parent.
MUSIC NOTES:
Attention all Band Members: Spring Jazz starts this week! We will rehearse on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Music is ready; pick it up from Mrs. Barry today.
Color Guard will practice Tuesday after school.
