Our school day officially begins at 8:10 with our cafeteria serving breakfast. All students should be in their homerooms no later than 8:30 and the period 1 class begins at 8:35.
8th Grade Social: Please take a minute to view the sign up genius if you are willing and able to donate items or volunteer time for the 8th grade social. Our next meeting is tonight (Wednesday May 30) at 6pm in the Mahoney Library. As a reminder the 8th grade social is June 2nd, 7-9pm at the SPHS Cafeteria - bring permission slips back to the main office ASAP!
Homework Club will start Monday and run from 2:50-3:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome. The last afternoon for homework club will be Thursday May 31st.
SOPO Teen Center:
The Teen Center is open Monday through Thursday from 2:30-5:30 and closed on Fridays.
Music:
Performance Jazz will rehearse Thursday morning.
Spring Jazz will NOT meet this week.
Band members who need their instruments from the lockers in the auditorium THURSDAY need to get them today and make other arrangements for storage. This is the ODD DAY classes, periods 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. See Mrs. Barry for details.

Boys LAX Home @ Wainwright. 3:00 shuttle, 7th grade at 4:00 and 8th grade at 5:00.
Girls LAX @ Kennebunk. 3:00 bus, 4:30 start time.
SOPO Ultimate Game @ Greely (Twin Brook Road). 5:30 game start.
In the case of inclement weather, decisions are made by 1:00/1:30 on whether or not practices/games will be held. Students will be notified via whole school announcement and updates will be put on the Mahoney announcements webpage.
Spring Sports Information:

Lacrosse - Open to 7th and 8th graders with each grade having its own team if numbers allow. Practices will be held after school at the Wainwright sports complex from 3:30-4:45. Shuttles will leave Mahoney at 3:00 and return approximately 5:15. At the Wainwright Complex the girls practice on field C3, games on Multi-purpose 2. Boys practice on field B3 and B4, games are on Multi-purpose 1.
Baseball - Open to 7th and 8th graders with each grade having its own team if numbers allow. Practices will be held after school at Mahoney. Practices will start on Monday, April 9th, at Mahoney from 3:15-4:45. Games will also be played at Mahoney.
Softball - Open to 7th and 8th graders with each grade having its own team if numbers allow. Practices will be held after school at the Wainwright sports complex from 3:30-4:45. Shuttles will leave Mahoney at 3:00 and return approximately 5:15. Practices and games will be held on Softball field 2 for 8th grade; practices will be on Softball field 4 and games on Softball field 2 for 7th grade.
Track and Field - Open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Practices will be held after school at Mahoney from 3:00-4:30.
SOPO Ultimate Frisbee - SOPO Rec. dept. does put together a 6-8 grade Ultimate Frisbee team. Practices are held at Wainwright fields and shuttles are provided from Mahoney to and from practices. Practices will be held on Multi-purpose field 3 and games will be on Quads D and E.
Extra-Curricular Eligibility - All athletes need a signed athletic contract (once per school year), signed concussion waiver (once per school year) and an updated physical on file (good for two calendar years) in order to participate. Students also need to maintain a HOW average of 2.5 in each of the three HOW criteria. Forms to be signed can be found on the athletics website.
Any student who wants to ride the van to the Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.

Room 207 is open during IW days for students who want to use a laptop. Students can print, practice touch typing or learn to code. iPads are not in use in Rom 207.
Sign up online at the top of the Mahoney website before workshop to work in room 207.
Chorus: 6th grade Chorus will meet today and 7th grade will meet on Friday. Rehearsals are now in room 205.
Library:
Book check out for the year will end the last week of May. Please start returning overdue books, and looking through backpacks, lockers, and at home to ensure all books are returned.
