PARENT NOTES:
Any student who wants to ride the van to tbe Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.
Sports Notes:
Sport Sign ups can be found on the tables outside the main office. 6th graders can sign up for cross country and tennis; 7th and 8th graders can sign up for any of the sports offered.
Practices for fall sports will start Monday September 11, after school. Both boys and girls soccer and cross country will practice at Mahoney. Tennis practices at the high school courts and field hockey practices at Wainwright fields.
Shuttles are provided for practices off of Mahoney grounds, shuttle times will be solidified shortly with transportation, stay tuned!
Some coaches have asked to have meetings prior to the first practice. Meetings are held this afternoon and all are at 3pm. Below are the meeting locations for anyone interested in playing that sport:
Tennis - Room 110.
Field Hockey - Room 114.
8th grade Boys Soccer - Auditorium.
7th grade Boys Soccer - Auditorium.
8th grade Girls Soccer - Room 11.
The PTA is asking students to sell Yankee Candle items in order to raise money.
Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club will start next Monday and run from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Just a reminder, phones should be turned off and either in your locker or bag for the entire day!
Please note that Brown Elementary has asked for our students to not head over to visit when you get dismissed here. It can get confusing for the younger students and so the adults’ focus will be on the younger students. Thank you!

All students are encouraged to sign up for band! See Mrs. Barry in room 201, whether you have experience or not. Our first Instrument Zoo/Beginner Band will start Monday after school in room 201.
Any musician interested in a Mahoney Jazz Band, see Mrs. Barry to sign up today!
All Band members, please bring your instruments in Monday September 11th.
