Mahoney, we value reading and love to see all staff and students reading during SSR! Are you struggling to find a book that you enjoy reading? Are you looking for something new?
Would you like Ms. Blakemore to hand select a bag of books just for you? Fill out a simple form and she will curate 5-7 books for you to check out. Read the ones you want. Return the ones you don't. You can get the form from your Humanities teacher, in the main office, or in the library
Students, when you arrive on school grounds after 8:10, please come right into the building. Thank you!
Students, charge your iPads each evening so they are ready for the day.
There is 6th grade chorus right now in the auditorium- if you haven’t made it to chorus rehearsal yet 6th grade chorus members- please head to the auditorium now!
There is 8th grade chorus during WINN today in room 205.
7th Grade Band meets today during WINN time. Please try to arrive on time with all materials for class.
Jazz Band will start next week on Tuesday! Stop by to get some music in room 203 today, tomorrow or Monday. You can get music before school, at the start of sectionals, or after school. Start time on Tuesday will be announced soon and posted in your Band Classroom. All band members are invited!
The entire Mahoney community is invited to the HOME Marching Band Show THIS Saturday night October 2! The marching band show starts at 5:00 p.m. and a small admission fee gets you an afternoon and early evening of exciting music, great marching and visual effects! Come support music and the South Portland program this Saturday!
The Drama Club will meet today in the auditorium - 3:00 - 3:30
Our South Portland Red Riot football team has had a fantastic season so far! We have appreciated our elementary and middle school students coming to the games to cheer on the team.
Students attending the football games will be directed to the bleachers to watch the game. Students will not be allowed to congregate under the bleachers or in other areas around the field. We invite students to be active fans of our Red Riot football team cheering them on from the stands.
We ask that elementary and middle school students who attend the game have a parent with them at the games.
Students, have you checked your email lately? Please make sure you know how to access your school email, that you do check it daily--you never know what you might find!
Everyone, this is a reminder about the importance of keeping your mask on, over your mouth and nose while in the building.
You need to be in your Connections room no later than 8:30. We had too many students coming in late this morning. Leave your home 5 minutes sooner and you will be all set!
Sports:
The eighth grade girls soccer team lost yesterday 4-0. The team worked very hard and represented Mahoney with pride and dedication. Amelia Burton-Fowler was again outstanding in the goal with 17 saves for the game. All players deserve a pat on the back for their hard work. Their record is now 1 win and 1 loss.
