Movement: Looks like we can all go outside today!
PHONES: Just a reminder that phones should be off and stored away during the school day. The school day begins when you come into Mahoney and ends at 2:45.
Students please remove your Earbuds/Earpods while in school/in the hallways and classrooms. If a teacher gives you permission to use these in a classroom, please remove them when the class is over.
Spring is finally here! Students who choose to come onto school grounds before the 8:10 bell are asked to wait outside. Students are not to wait inside the 6th grade entrance. If necessary, students are able to wait in the main entrance foyer. If possible, please plan to arrive at 8:10 so you can come right in!
There seems to be an increase in the amount of perfume/Axe and cologne people are using. Please know that there are some students and staff who have asthma and allergies and strong fragrances can cause issues.
Please be mindful of how much perfume or cologne/Axe you use either at home or here at school.
Adults will kindly and privately ask you to use less, if you are not aware yourself. Perhaps your friends will let you know, as well?
Club Info:
Homework Club is offered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week from 3-4. This is a great place to head after school to get some work done in a quiet place with a helpful adult.
Tomorrow is the last day for all 2022 Mahoney swag- Ordering available on the Mahoney website
DAILY: Mahoney’s lost and found is located right outside the main office right next to the water fountain. There are a bunch of items both on top of and inside the red Mahoney box, if you’re missing something, check it out!
Students, charge your iPads each evening so they are ready for the day.
Students, have you checked your email lately? Please make sure you know how to access your school email, that you do check it daily--you never know what you might find!
Music:
Today is a 6th Grade Band Day; Friday is 7th Grade and combined bands marching practice from 1:30 until dismissal.
Jazz Band will rehearse Tuesday and Thursday next week starting at 7:45 a.m.
Color guard will practice today right after school until 3:30.
Our bands and chorus will present their spring concert TONIGHT at SPHS at 7:00 p.m. All music students have specific information and the members of the Mahoney community are invited. All musicians are reminded to bring all music and instruments home with them by TODAY. INSTRUMENTALISTS MUST BRING THEIR INSTRUMENTS BACK TOMORROW.
Friday is the 2nd combined marching band practice for grades 6, 7 and 8. We meet in the auditorium at 1:30 p.m. and will be dismissed at 2:45 from the auditorium. Come ready to follow directions and go outside!
Library:
Yesterday, Ms. Blakemore counted all the pennies in her penny jar. There were 644. Myloh Ames was the closest, so she wins the pennies for the 6th grade class. Myloh, please come meet Ms. Blakemore by the Penny Feud table to collect your prize.
Yearbook:
Now is the time to reserve your 2022 yearbook! Order online through the link on the website or bring cash/check for $28 to Mr. Patashnik in room 122. Don’t wait, because they are selling fast and the final date for online orders is Friday May 13!
