Cohort A
Breakfast and Lunch: We will continue to offer pick up of free breakfast and lunch at each school as we have done throughout the fall. Pick-up of meals is along the side ramp at Mahoney from 9:45-10:30 a.m. or at Brick Hill and Red Bank from 11:30 a.m. -12:15 p.m.
Breakfast: Breakfast Sandwich, juice, fruit and milk
Lunch: Chicken Caesar Salad, Bread Sticks, fresh fruit and milk
Reading Challenge prizes will be available today during afternoon Connections. Students will be called down to the office by classroom. Exchange your points for any combination of 5 or 10 point prizes. Or turn your completed Challenge paper in for a 10 dollar Bull Moose gift card.Thursday and Friday.
If you have an 8th Grade Connections group don't forget to get the superlative Ballots back to me by end of the day tomorrow. They will be counted over vacation.
MATH MEET RESULTS:
Grade 6 (mix of Mahoney & Memorial students) placed 9th out of 10 teams with 98 points.
Mahoney members: Ollie Jenkins, George Jenkins, Gil Ingrahm, Noah Kay and Lucas Pacin
Grade 7 placed 13th out of 13 teams very close to 4 other teams which is pretty good considering there were only two teammates at the meet.
Grade 8 won the meet with 118 points! (They beat Saco MS by 8 points (not too competitive here!).)
Jasper Nichols, Mahoney, placed 2nd with 32 points.
Mahoney members: Quinn Daly, Jeremy Jacoby-Roberts, Tyler Joyce
Students, please get in the habit of checking your email everyday. You never know what you might find and/or learn!

The JMG students are excited to announce that they are starting a monthly awareness campaign in an effort to raise students' awareness. One of the best parts about awareness days is that it shines a light on something you might not otherwise know about and inspires you to get involved.
JMG’s focus on Black History Month continues with our new Vice President. Kamala Harris started her political career in 2003. She was elected District Attorney of San Francisco, California. She specialized in protecting children and won a 20 billion settlement for californians whose lost their homes. She also won a 1.1 billion dollar settlement for students and veterans who were taken advantage of. Kamala defended the affordable care act, enforced environmental law and was a leader on marriage equality.
Kamala often shares a story about her mom while growing up. “My mother would look at me and she’d say ‘Kamala, you may be the first to do many things,but make sure you are not the last.’ That’s why breaking those barriers is worth it. As much as anything else, it is also to create that path for those who will come after us.”
Mrs. Barry reminds all 6th 7th and 8th grade band members to stop in to 201 Thursday or Friday to pick up their prize earned in band yesterday! Names are posted in your GC stream--great work everyone, thank you! If you can’t stop by, please email Mrs. Barry.
