Civil Rights Team:
Thank you to the 53 students who showed up early Monday morning for our Civil Rights Team Meeting. Your interest in making Mahoney a safe and positive place for all student is inspiring! Stay tuned for more information about hosting the upcoming dance on October 23rd.
Homework Club:
Students, looking for a quiet place to do some work after school? Head up to the Mahoney library at Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday afternoons between 2:30 and 3:30. All grades are welcome!
Library News:
This Saturday, October 10 is Star Wars Reads Day! For every book you borrow from the library this week, you can enter to win a Star Wars themed prize! Prizes are on display in the library, along with other free goodies, including Star Wars pencils and bookmarks. Reading: it’s our only hope.
Chorus News:
Any 7th or 8th grade chorus member who is interested in auditioning for honors chorus must meet Mrs. Swenson from 7:20-7:50 OR 2:15-2:45 on Tuesday, October 6 for a rehearsal. We will also have practices NEXT Tuesday if you can not make it this week! You MUST attend one of the Tuesday rehearsals to be eligible for auditions.
Music Notes:
7th and 8th grade Honors band meets Thursday after school and Wednesday morning.
Training Jazz will rehearse this Thursday.
Sports Updates:
The 7th Grade Boys Soccer team lost a tough match 6-1. Damir Brkic scored the lone goal off a direct kick.
The 7th Grade Girls Soccer team lost 4-2 against Bonney Eagle. Goals scored by Lilly Callow and Kayla Connelly. Defensive player of the game was Ally Hanlon. Great effort by all.
The 8th Grade Girls Soccer team lost a hard fought match 2-1. Maggie Whitmore did a great job on defense to keep the game close.
