The Harlem SuperStars game has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 2nd at 2pm at the SPHS Gym. Tickets for the Basketball game are on sale in the Main Office! Get yours before the sellout!! $8.00 advance admission ---- at the door $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students
Yearbooks go on sale this week through April vacation. Bring 28 dollars to room 122, Mr. P., before or after school only.
Athletics:
Practices for Indoor Track and Swimming will run through the month of March. Swimming practice will take place at the South Portland Community Center, with a shuttle bringing students to and from practice, and Indoor Track takes place right here at Mahoney. The past couple of years the PTA have asked students to sell Yankee Candle items in order to raise money. This year we have decided to do a 'No Frills' fundraiser. Many of you may be familiar with this idea. Instead of asking families to buy and sell items, we are looking for families to simply make a donation. Please click here for the details. As with any fundraiser, we thank you very much for your support!
South Portland School Department Phone Drive: Donate your old phone to help the SPSD InfoTech Department bring new and exciting technology to classrooms around the district!
What do we need?
● Use with VR headsets so students can take virtual field trips.
● Connect with Twitter or other social media platforms to share classroom learning in real time.
● Use as a controller for robotics or drones.
Where can you bring your phones?
First wipe your phone by doing a factory reset, then bring it to any of the schools in the district. There will be drop off boxes in the front offices.

Homework Club runs from 2:30-3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school to get help from staff members. Each day there are 2 adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 7:50. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Tickets for the Harlem Super Stars Basketball game at SP High School featuring two of our own...Mr. Nee and Mr. Ouellet, are on sale in the Main Office! This game has been rescheduled for Sunday April 2nd at 2pm. Get your tickets before they sellout!! $8.00!!

Spring sports signups are outside the Main office. 7th and 8th graders can sign up for all sports, while 6th graders can sign up only for Track.
The Mahoney Track Team had its fourth meet of the season against Memorial and Westbrook this past weekend. Individual event winners for the team were Annie and Kate von Seggern, Ava Smart, Drew Folley, Alex Kellough, and Anthony Nixon.
Music:
*Color Guard practices Fridays right after school in front of the auditorium. Come check it out and get ready for spring!
*Beginner Band runs on Mondays immediately after school in room 201.
*The instrument repair man will be here today at 1:00 p.m.
*The Mahoney Performance Jazz Band was one of only two bands in it’s Division of 10 groups to earn a GOLD award, the top honor at the State Jazz Festival in Millinocket Saturday. The band earned an average score of 96, and the performance was was outstanding. Rosie Saffer-Meng was announced as an Outstanding Soloist, and every member of the band is to be congratulated on a wonderful year. Rehearsals are over, but all students are reminded to stay tuned for announcements about Spring Jazz--we will start soon! No auditions necessary!
