Our school day officially begins at 8:10 with our cafeteria serving breakfast. All students should be in their homerooms no later than 8:30 and the period 1 class begins at 8:35.
8th Grade Social:
The 8th grade social planning committee will meet this Wednesday, May 9 at 6pm in the SPHS Cafeteria.

Homework Club will start Monday and run from 2:50-3:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
SOPO Teen Center:
The Teen Center is open Monday through Thursday from 2:30-5:30 and closed on Fridays.
Music:
The instrument repair man is here today at 1:00 p.m. Please get your instrument to 201 right away.
Beginner band meets today after school.
Performance Jazz will rehearse Tuesday morning this week. Please arrive by 5:20 for the talent show TOMORROW NIGHT.
Color guard will practice Wednesday MORNING this week, due to the ½ day. Remember to check Google Classroom too!
Training Jazz will now be Spring Jazz! New members are welcome to join us. We rehearse on Thursday morning.
All band students and color guard, get ready! Our first marching practice is this Friday!

7th grade Softball Home @ Wainwright - 3:00 shuttle, 4:00 game start.
In the case of inclement weather, decisions are made by 1:00/1:30 on whether or not practices/games will be held. Students will be notified via whole school announcement and updates will be put on the Mahoney announcements webpage.
Volleyball Open Gym - Coach Kane at SPHS will be hosting a an open gym for any 7th and 8th grader girls interested in volleyball on May 19th from 9-11am. Prior experience is not necessary, please email Coach Kane with any questions nicolemc12@gmail.com.

Lacrosse - Open to 7th and 8th graders with each grade having its own team if numbers allow. Practices will be held after school at the Wainwright sports complex from 3:30-4:45. Shuttles will leave Mahoney at 3:00 and return approximately 5:15. At the Wainwright Complex the girls practice on field C3, games on Multi-purpose 2. Boys practice on field B3 and B4, games are on Multi-purpose 1.

Practices will be held on Multi-purpose field 3 and games will be on Quads D and E.
Extra-Curricular Eligibility - All athletes need a signed athletic contract (once per school year), signed concussion waiver (once per school year) and an updated physical on file (good for two calendar years) in order to participate. Students also need to maintain a HOW average of 2.5 in each of the three HOW criteria. Forms to be signed can be found on the athletics website.
Any student who wants to ride the van to the Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.
