PARENT NOTES:
IW for grades 6 and 7 today. The third quarter closes at the end of the week, so please use your time wisely both in class and during the workshop periods. Be sure to self draft if you think you need some extra support.
Sports:
All Spring sports will begin today!
Boys and Girls Lacrosse will practice at Memorial from 2:45-4:15, with a shuttle leaving school at 2:30.
Track will practice after school at Mahoney from 2:15-3:45.
Softball will practice in the Mahoney gym from 3:00-4:30.
Baseball will practice outside on the lower parking lot from 3:00-4:30.
Yearbooks go on sale this week through April vacation. Bring 28 dollars to room 122, Mr. P., before or after school only.
The past couple of years the PTA have asked students to sell Yankee Candle items in order to raise money. This year we have decided to do a 'No Frills' fundraiser. Many of you may be familiar with this idea. Instead of asking families to buy and sell items, we are looking for families to simply make a donation. Please click here for the details. As with any fundraiser, we thank you very much for your support!
South Portland School Department Phone Drive: Donate your old phone to help the SPSD InfoTech Department bring new and exciting technology to classrooms around the district!
What do we need?
● Use with VR headsets so students can take virtual field trips.
● Connect with Twitter or other social media platforms to share classroom learning in real time.
● Use as a controller for robotics or drones.
Where can you bring your phones?
First wipe your phone by doing a factory reset, then bring it to any of the schools in the district. There will be drop off boxes in the front offices.

Homework Club runs from 2:30-3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school to get help from staff members. Each day there are 2 adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 7:50. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Civil Rights Team Members, if you can make it there will be a meeting today Monday during workshop. 8th graders, we know that you have band, no worries! 6th and 7th graders, please think about joining Civil Rights if you are not a member already.

Bowdoin College and the Saco Rec Department are putting on Volleyball clinics during April Break, please stop by the office for more information.
April is School Library Month! For every book you check out from the library between now and April vacation, you can put your name in for a drawing to win a free book. On Thursday, April 13 ten names will be drawn to win a book!
Music:
*Color Guard practices Fridays right after school in front of the auditorium. Because of this short week, Color Guard will have a practice on Thursday directly after dismissal from 11:45-12:15. See Zoe Collins or Gloria Anzures with questions.
*The instrument repair man will be here today at 1:00 p.m. in room 201.
*Beginner Band will not meet on Monday. If you need extra help, please see Mrs. Barry today.
* Spring Jazz will rehearse Tuesdays and Fridays. Please check in at homeroom first. We start playing at 7:15 a.m
*All band members need to plan to bring instruments home over break. There is music to practice and memorize. Take some time to clean your instrument as well!
