Friday the 8th grade girls softball team scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to defeat Windham 8 to 6. Outstanding pitching by Hattie Tetzlaff and catching by Rebekah Hunnewell. Timely hitting by Poni Laka, Shaelyn Kierstead and Aileen Cambell contributed to the win. A solid game was played by the entire team.
On Friday afternoon the 8th Grade SoPo baseball team defeated Windham in their season opener by a score of 1-0. Calvin Flaherty scored the winning run on a line drive base hit by Mickey Crockett. Garon Kelley and Dillon Bolduc combined for the shutout. Great win!
The Mahoney Middle School track team had a solid showing at the seasons first meet in Gorham. The 8th grade boys took second place for their division and the 6th and 8th grade girls won their divisions. Individual event winners for the boys were Liam Piper, Jacob Costin, Paul Zechman, Tevon Sok and the 8th grade relay team. Individual event winners for the girls were Morgan Anderson, Maddie Drolet (2), Chloe Pascal, Izzy Chase, Marina Brandao, Zoe Baker and Bonney Johnson. In addition to all the individual event winners a number of boys and girls also captured second place in the meet.
