Beginner Band will not meet today due to parent conferences.
Performance Jazz will rehearse Tuesday morning.
All band students, plan to get your instruments home today--if you’re practicing, maybe you won’t have to do dishes!
All band students should have a concert notice by now. The due date for return is December 3rd.
Sports:
There will be no basketball practices Tuesday (11/18) through Sunday (11/25) due to the Thanksgiving break.
Winter Sports: Basketball season is underway! The second winter season, when Indoor Track and Swimming are offered, will begin in February. Please take a moment to look at the basketball practice schedule below.

Sports Eligibility: Students must maintain a 2.5 HOW score, have an up to date physical on file and have signed up electronically through RankOne sports management. The website can be found here (https://southportland.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx).
Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club runs from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Mahoney's Environmental Club is called the Green Team, we meet on Tuesday afternoons, right after school in room 108, Mrs. Pitt's room.

Student Morning Announcements: Monday, November 19, 2018 Day 2
Reminder today is a day 2 because that would have been our day on Friday. When there’s a snow day we pick up right where we left off!
Do you have any wreath or poinsettia order forms in your backpack? If so, please bring them to the main office.
Just a reminder, phones should be turned off and either in your locker or bag for the entire day!
Homework Club runs today and will run from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.
Students, please be reminded that bags and iPads should not be brought into the cafe at breakfast or lunch. Also, all food and drink, other than water, needs to be finish and disposed of prior to heading to class.
All students who have PE - remember to bring warm clothes as classes will still be heading outside!

There will be no basketball practices tomorrow due to our half day and no practices over Thanksgiving break.
Last night, South Portland Middle School Ice hockey beat Portland 3 to 2 last night.
