R.O.L.E. (Rippleffect Outdoor Leadership Education) - The ROLE program is offered to 7th and 8th grade students from Maine middle schools and is designed to develop leadership, confidence, awareness and interpersonal skills through outdoor adventure programming. The ROLE program consists of 4, 2.5 hour after-school sessions, a long weekend to Cow Island and a culminating graduation ceremony. This program will have three offerings throughout the year, for this Fall session at Mahoney we will take the first 14 students who return the filled out paperwork. On this paperwork students can sign up for the current or for future sessions. For more information please have your student pick up a packet in the main office or click here.

Mahoney's Flu Clinic is October 18th at 10:00. Click here for more information and click here for the form to fill out to have your child get a flu shot at school. The completed form can be turned in to the main office at any time prior to the date of the clinic. Please contact Mahoney's school nurse, Jen Hayward, with any questions.

Do you have an idea? A question? A passion? Have you ever thought about coding your own game? Creating your own comic book? Learning more about a topic you’re passionate about? The Mahoney Idea Lab may be the place for you. During the first session, Idea Lab will meet during period 7 on even days. If you’re interested in developing an Idea Lab project, talk to Ms. Gartley in the library.
Civil Rights will have a meeting on Thursday at 7:15 in room 111 for 7th and 8th graders. This is to plan for the Civil Rights Conference you will attend in a few weeks. 6th graders, hang in there, regular meetings will begin soon!
Student Council: Interested in joining Mahoney’s Student Council? Our first meeting of the year is this Wednesday, October 5th at 7:15 a.m. in Ms Schmearer’s room, room 213. All grades are welcome and we would love to see you there?
Students: Please take care when riding your bikes and scooters on the green belt and on sidewalks. If there are walkers, you should walk your bike/scooter around the walkers and then get back on your bike. Walkers have the right a way on sidewalks and the greenbelt. Please represent Mahoney in a positive way!
7th and 8th grade Students, the first session of Rippleffect begins soon! Stop by the office to pick up information. We will be running 3 sessions this year. Are you up for the winter session?? There are only 14 slots available and the first session begins on October 26th.

Tennis will have a meet in Falmouth this afternoon, bus leaves at 2:30.
All other practices will be held as usual.
Mahoney 8th grade girls soccer won 4 - 3 on a goal by Kate Von Seggern as time expired against Scarborough on Friday. Evelyn Selser added 3 goals while Annie VonSeggern led the defense. Fiona Stawarz made several big saves in a great all around team win. Great job girls!!
