Movement: Field is open!
The current standings in the Reading Olympics have Mr. Heffernan’s team in first place. Many teams are close behind, so it will all come down to the door decorating. Door decorations will be judged on Thursday and Friday this week so there is still plenty of time to create an amazing door that represents your country.
PHONES: Just a reminder that phones should be off and stored away during the school day. The school day begins when you come into Mahoney and ends at 2:45.
There seems to be an increase in the amount of perfume/Axe and cologne people are using. Please know that there are some students and staff who have asthma and allergies and strong fragrances can cause issues. Please be mindful of how much perfume or cologne/Axe you use either at home or here at school. Adults will kindly and privately ask you to use less, if you are not aware yourself. Perhaps your friends will let you know, as well?
Attention Mahoney Community! We have some very exciting news to share with you!
On Monday, Mahoney is incredibly lucky to be able to welcome several students from all over the world. Additionally, Mrs. Lunt will be joining our teaching staff and her classroom is in room 217. Her job will be to support some of our new students who may need help with understanding English.
As you always do, please welcome any new student you might see in the hall or in your class with a smile. I bet you can imagine how it might feel to join a new school at this time of the year! Welcoming them as they find a spot next to you in class, inviting them to join you and your friends at lunch and helping them to find a classroom–these are all ways we all can make Mahoney a kind and respectful place for everyone.
Thank you!
Reading Olympics: Door judging will finish TODAY!
