There will be no basketball practices this afternoon.
An important message from our Mayor:
The South Portland City Council will hold a meeting in each of the voting
districts to share with residents what is going on in the city and then open the meeting to comments or questions from residents in attendance. Staff will be present to answer questions.
The meeting for residents living in District 3 will take place on Thursday,
January 4th at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kaler School.
We look forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts regarding our city.

Sports Notes
Any student who wants to ride the van to the Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.
Homework Club will start Monday and run from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday 8:10-8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time. Would you like to set up a lunch account for your student? Do you know what the balance is on your student’s account? Head to myschoolbucks.com to take care of this!

The cast for the Drama club is posted in the office
Were you a part of Mahoney’s ski club last year? Interested in a pass to ski this year? Stop by the office to pick up your free pass to use during our week off!
Please remember that there should not be any snowball throwing/making/fighting on school grounds, at bus stops or on your way to or from school.
The PTA will be giving the girls bathroom a face lift during winter break...Please write down any thoughts, ideas, or quotes for them and drop them off in the office…...anything that will send a positive message.

7th grade boys improved to 7-0 on the season with an exciting 55-52 victory over previously undefeated Scarborough yesterday.
Petros Englehardt had a monster game with 28 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Raiders, Ben Smith had 14 points
There are no practices this afternoon.
Music:
Performance Jazz WILL NOT rehearse Friday morning.
Training and Performance Jazz will resume rehearsals in January--have a great break.
Information is now available for the District Honors Jazz Auditions. Please see Mrs. Barry
Musicians please get your instruments home over break. Time to review skills and new material, and clean your instrument!

Come kick off winter break in the library with Star Wars trivia this afternoon, during period 7. (Don’t worry, no spoilers!)
