Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club runs from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.
Would you like to set up a lunch account for your student? Does your student need more money on his/her account? Head to myschoolbucks.com to take care of this!
Green Team:
Mahoney's Environmental Club is called the Green Team, we meet on Tuesday afternoons, right after school in room 108, Mrs. Pitt's room.

There will be IW for grades 6 and 8 this afternoon.
ROLE Students who are going to the expedition this weekend, don’t forget to get in touch with your teachers about work missed on Monday.
Just a reminder, phones should be turned off and either in your locker or bag for the entire day!
Ski and Snowboard paperwork is available both online and here in the office. There are fifty spots on the bus for students. First come, first served!
Today is the first day of Mahoney’s participation in the Nationwide Kindness Challenge! As you Connections teacher has explained, our first challenge is all about thanking other people. Through using the yellow recognition slips this week and next, be mindful of who you might like to thank--a friend, teacher, cafeteria or custodial crew member. What a great way to make someone’s day!

Library:
Media Studies in the library is coming back! Next week we will dedicate four afternoons to Media Archaeology -- experience video games and internet of the 80s and 90s for yourself! The following week, we will have media studies sessions on intertextuality in Stranger Things, satire in Futurama, and emoji poetry. Space is limited so pre-registration is encouraged. See Ms. Gartley in the library for more info!
Quote of the day: No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
