Anyone interested in ordering any Mahoney wear...this will be the last chance this year. We will be taking orders until next Friday June 3. You may pick up order forms in the office.
8th graders-Time is running out to bring in your paperwork and payment for the 8th grade field trip to Point Sebago and 8th Grade Social. Please bring any completed paperwork and payments to Mrs. Beardsley in the main office. If you need another copy of the paperwork, she has extra copies!
Next week, the library will begin hosting an end-of-year book swap --
Bring in a book (or two) from home that you're finished reading and don't mind giving away, and take a book to read over the summer!
Sports Notes
The Mahoney Track team had its fifth meet of the season Monday at Westbrook. The girls team were led by double event winners Eva Tedford and Elise Perron. Also winning events for the girls were Marina Brandao, Izzy Chase, Maddie Drolet, Jordan Hulsey and Julia Flaherty. Event winners for the boys were Clifford David, Owen Maloney, Oscar Sullivan and Max Jones.
The seventh grade girls softball team defeated Westbrook 18-10. Chloe Grant pitched 6 innings for the win. Maria Degifico, Chloe MacVane, Kiley Matthews, Fiona Stawarz, Sam Hillier, Abby Savage, Chloe Grant, Laney Filieo, Sky Jordan, Meagan Murphy, Chloe Blanchette, Mary Conley all had hits to lead a strong offensive performance. Great job everyone.
8th grade girls softball defeated Westbrook 5 to 3. Hattie Tetzlaff pitch another outstanding game. Ashlee Aceto had two hits and caught a great game. Aviyonna Kim made a unassisted double play. Brooklyn Ortiz had two hits and made two nice catches in the outfield that prevented Westbrook from scoring. The team is now 8 and 0 for the season.
The 7th grade baseball team won 8-7 yesterday. Anthony Nixon threw 5 excellent innings. Carson Porter closed the game by striking out the last batter, stranding the tying run on 3rd base. Nick Borelli led the offense, reaching base all 4 times with 3 hits. Their final game is next Friday vs. Westbrook at Mahoney.
The 8th Grade Baseball team won 5-3 yesterday. Hunter Owen, Noah Lewis, Garon Kelley, and Tyler Small all had hits for SoPo.
The 7th Grade girls lacrosse team lost a nail biter yesterday, 6-5. Jennifer Gross scored a goal for SoPo.
The 8th Grade girls lacrosse team lost a tough game to Bonny Eagle, 4-2 which was better than their first attempt.
Music Notes
Color Guard will practice today after school.
All band members are reminded to make plans to get their instruments home after school in preparation for the Memorial Day Parade, which is next Monday, May 30th! Remember, left foot first! Mrs. Barry will be at Mahoney Monday morning at 8:45 a.m. for a brief time if anything is forgotten. This will be your only chance to get in!
Believe it or not it’s time to sign up for HS Marching Band! All incoming 9th graders and any interested incoming 8th graders are welcome to join the award-winning SPHS Marching Band. See Mrs. Barry in 201 for details.
