Friday March 2, 2018 Day 4
Hello Mahoney PTA families! We are meeting next Wednesday March 7th at 6:30pm in the Home Ec Room for our rescheduled/initial/running out of time Teacher Appreciation planning meeting! Mahoney families LOVE to show our appreciation for all that our teachers and staff do and therefore we host an epic Teacher Appreciation Week! We would love to gather thoughts, ideas, and put together a week full of treats, food, relaxation, and goodies. Thank you to all who can make it!
Please note that our school day officially begins at 8:10 with our cafeteria serving breakfast. All students should be in their homerooms no later than 8:30 and the period 1 class begins at 8:35.
Rippleffect is running what looks like a great program for kids ages 10-12 over February break. Click here FMI!
Civil Rights - There will be a Civil Rights meeting Monday (March 5) morning at 7:30 in room 203. Breakfast will be served!
Homework Club will start Monday and run from 2:50-3:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
Rippleffect:
Our Spring session of Rippleffect is now full! If you are an interested 7th or 8th grader application packets can be submitted to be on our wait list.
Music:
8th Grade Band will rehearse today period 7
6th Honors Band will practice Wednesday after school next week.
All band members have received a concert notice. It is also posted on Google Classroom. Please be aware of the details and due dates leading up to our concert on March 13th. That is today for full credit!
Training and Performance Jazz rehearsals next week; Important change:
Training Jazz will rehearse Wednesday morning and Thursday morning next week; Performance Jazz will rehearse Monday, Tuesday and Friday morning next week.
Chorus Notes:7/8 Honors Festival
We will rehearse on Wednesday from 7:40-8:20. (Be prepared with Amatos order and money)
On Friday you need to be at SPHS at 8:20 (do not come to Mahoney first)
6th Honors Festival
We will rehearse Wednesday from 2:50-3:30.
Sports Notes
There will be no Swimming practice this Friday, March 2. Swimming pictures will be Monday, March 5th at the pool before practice.
Indoor Track practice on Friday, March 2nd is for the relay teams only.

Any student who wants to ride the van to the Boys and Girls club needs to pick up a form in the Main office.

Students and Staff, let’s keep the kindness and respect recognition going! Thank you for using the provided slips and recognize behavior that we value here.
Attention Civil Rights Team members, our next meeting will be Monday morning. Mrs. Stilphen will be attending. We hope to see you all there! And it is never too late to join.
Please remember that there should not be any snowball throwing/making/fighting on school grounds, at bus stops or on your way to or from school.
