PARENT NOTES:
Yearbook: A reminder to yearbook staff twice a week meetings will start this week. Yearbook staff will meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
There will be a Civil Rights meeting Monday morning (1/28) at 7:40. Breakfast will be served.

MUSIC:
The instrument repair man will be at Mahoney on Monday.
Performance Jazz WILL rehearse Tuesday and Friday next week.
Training Jazz will rehearse Thursday morning next week.
7 and 8 Honors Band will rehearse Monday after school next week--please get your instruments home and practice! Bring your honors music to class with you each day this week.
6th Honors band members: please bring your honors music to school every day. We will rehearse next Wednesday after school.
Sports News:
Indoor Track and Swimming sign-ups are outside the main office.
Practices start 2/11/19 for indoor track and 2/13/19 for swimming.
Sports Eligibility: Students must maintain a 2.5 HOW score, have an up to date physical on file and have signed up electronically through RankOne sports management. The website can be found here (https://southportland.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx).
Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club runs from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

Mahoney's Environmental Club is called the Green Team, we meet on Tuesday afternoons, right after school in room 108, Mrs. Pitt's room.

Student Morning Announcements: Friday, January 25, 2019 Day 3
There will be IW for grades 7 and 8 this afternoon.
Civil Rights will have a meeting Monday morning at 7:40 in room 203 - breakfast will be provided.
Just a reminder that this week we are piloting a new schedule - We will have bells ringing to signal the end of periods throughout most of the day. We are trying out a school-wide break beginning at 10:15. This is when snacks are eaten, bathroom breaks are taken, going to your locker to put away materials and get ones that you need. All students should stay in their respective grade level wings during this time unless you are heading to the bathroom. Teachers, thank you for your help with supervision during this time.
Homework Club runs today and will run from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
