Hello Mahoney PTA families! We are meeting tonight, March 7th at 6:30pm in the Home Ec Room for our rescheduled/initial/running out of time Teacher Appreciation planning meeting! Mahoney families LOVE to show our appreciation for all that our teachers and staff do and therefore we host an epic Teacher Appreciation Week! We would love to gather thoughts, ideas, and put together a week full of treats, food, relaxation, and goodies. Thank you to all who can make it!
Please note that our school day officially begins at 8:10 with our cafeteria serving breakfast. All students should be in their homerooms no later than 8:30 and the period 1 class begins at 8:35.
Rippleffect is running what looks like a great program for kids ages 10-12 over February break. Click here FMI!
Students who have volunteered for and nominated to the SOPO United student focus group will be meeting Friday, March 9, during workshop.
A huge thank you Ms. Lyons and Ms. McNeice for the beautiful artwork they left behind in our basement girls’ bathroom. The positive quotes and beautiful colors are just what we needed in there! Be sure to check it out when you visit for conferences!
Homework Club will start Monday and run from 2:50-3:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
SOPO Teen Center:
The Teen Center is open Monday through Thursday from 2:30-5:30 and closed on Fridays.

6th Honors Band the festival is TOMORROW-Saturday! Bring your instrument HOME today. Meet at Memorial for the bus by 7:20 a.m. Bring instrument, music, dress clothing, money and food!
All band members have received a concert notice. It is also posted on Google Classroom. Please be aware of the details and due dates leading up to our concert on March 13th.
Training and Performance Jazz rehearsals: Training Jazz will rehearse MONDAY and TUESDAY morning next week and Performance Jazz will rehearse TUESDAY morning.
7th and 8th honors band members, you still owe Mrs. Barry lunch money!

Let’s say this every so often and not every morning…...Students and Staff, let’s keep the kindness and respect recognition going! Thank you for using the provided slips and recognize behavior that we value here.
Please remember that there should not be any snowball throwing/making/fighting on school grounds, at bus stops or on your way to or from school.
