Drama and Student Council are partnering up to lead a fundraiser on Friday. We will be asking for a dollar donation for those that want to wear hats. It will be another "Support the Patriots......or any other team..." day. All $$ will be donated to our local Coast Guard.
Our Grade 6 AG Math students placed First in the Southern Elementary Math League Meet this morning with 178 points - 20 to 28 points above the second place team (I don't have the official results yet).
Jasper Nichols (Gr 5 Brown) Placed first with a perfect score of 20.
Zoe Commerford placed 3rd with 36 points.
Parents feel free to come check out our lost and found outside the Main office. There are water bottles, sports bags and many jackets. Everything will be donated to Goodwill over February break.
Yearbook: A reminder to yearbook staff twice a week meetings will start this week. Yearbook staff will meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sports News:
Indoor Track and Swimming sign-ups are outside the main office.
Practices start 2/11/19 for indoor track and 2/13/19 for swimming.
There will be a Swimming Meeting this afternoon (Thursday), 1/31, after school for all those interested.
Sports Eligibility: Students must maintain a 2.5 HOW score, have an up to date physical on file and have signed up electronically through RankOne sports management. The website can be found here (https://southportland.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx).
Brown Elementary has asked us to remind students to not come on school grounds as they leave Mahoney in the afternoon. There is a lot of activity as the elementary students are dismissed and the adults are helping the younger students hop on the right bus or make their way to their parents. Thank you for reinforcing this with your student.
Homework Club runs from 3:00-4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club is an opportunity for students to stay after school and complete homework or study in a quiet and safe setting.. Each day there will be at least one adult to supervise and support students. Please note that only students who plan on using this time productively are welcome.
The cafeteria is open for breakfast everyday until 8:25. Please know that only those that are eating breakfast should be in the cafeteria at this time.

8th grade connections teacher should have 8th grade superlative ballots (one per student) - all ballots due in Mr. Patashnik’s mailbox no later than end of the day today or they will not be counted

Students do you have a short story or a question for the Mahoney Weekly Raider Newspaper? Drop it off in the main office.
Students, please be reminded that bags and iPads should not be brought into the cafe at breakfast or lunch. Also, all food and drink, other than water, needs to be finish and disposed of prior to heading to class.
